Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to meet certain eating disorder criteria to work with you?
Absolutely not! There is a common feeling among individuals who struggle with their relationship with food that they have to struggle to a certain degree before they can get help. If you experience any unhappiness or anxiety when it comes to your relationship with food or your body image, then you can benefit from seeking support.
Am I a good fit to work with you if I used to have an eating disorder but am now in recovery?
Yes, we can work with you on other challenges while offering the benefit of being informed and sensitive to issues around food and body.
Can we talk about things besides food and body in sessions?
YES! We work with many clients whose main focus is not about food and body image. Sessions often focus on topics such as relationships, stress, anxiety, mood, trauma symptoms, gender identity, and more.
How many sessions will I need?
Unfortunately, there is no straightforward answer. The number of sessions you need varies based on many factors, including, your goals, your level of commitment to address these goals, and the amount of time needed to reach them. Therefore, it is not possible to say how many sessions will be needed. We will check in throughout our work together to make sure we are addressing your goals and that sessions are serving you.
