I am a licensed clinical professional counselor who is passionate about helping individuals through their journey of growth and healing. I specialize in providing support to people who struggle with eating disorders, disordered eating, body image, trauma, and substance use. I have extensive experience working at different levels of care, including residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient.
In my work with a client, I start by focusing on building rapport to create a trusting therapeutic relationship and cater my style to each person’s own unique strengths and challenges. I take an eclectic approach, incorporating modalities such as motivational interviewing (MI), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), radically open dialectical behavioral therapy (RO-DBT), internal family systems (IFS), and cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I am LGBTQIA+ affirming and practice with a Health at Every Size (HAES) informed approach to treatment.
I support clients in identifying unhelpful thoughts and behaviors and in learning coping skills to respond to these. I value the individual's whole self, and make sure to address any co-occurring conditions such as mood, anxiety, substance use, trauma, interpersonal dynamics, and daily life stressors. I strive to make each person feel comfortable in therapy by identifying when they need more time to develop readiness for change and when to push and challenge them. Therapy can be hard work, so I pay attention to when a client may need this to be balanced with humor and lightheartedness. I strongly believe that every person can achieve recovery from their eating disorder and make changes that will improve their overall wellness and enjoyment of life. I would be honored to support you in building the life you want to live.
